Changes to Timeframes
Due to the extra checks required in the wake of privacy breaches in February and March, as well as OIA requests coming into EQC at double the rate we can process them, EQC is currently processing requests in 6 to 7 months.
Here are some things you can do to get answers quicker:
- Call us: Requests for an update on your claim, or a copy of your Scope of Works, can usually be responded to in a matter of days without the need for an OIA request. Call us on 0800 DAMAGE (326 243) or if you prefer, send an email to email@example.com.
- Make your request as specific as possible: Broad requests for all file information can take a long time to process and may contain information that is of little value. We have put information about how to make the most of an OIA request to EQC on our website.
- Priority requests: EQC may be able to prioritise your request in certain circumstances. If you consider that your request should be given priority, for example you are experiencing severe health or financial issues, please advise us as soon as possible with supporting documentation so that we may consider whether your request should be escalated.
We are also writing to, or calling, all our customers before July 2013 to let them know where their claim is at.
