Tim McGuinness

Tim McGuinness has held senior executive positions in the New Zealand fund management industry for over 15 years and has been involved with managing investment funds for over 25 years. Mr McGuinness is currently a member of the Government Superannuation Fund Authority board, a member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange Surveillance Panel and a trustee of the Global Retirement Trust. He has been on the EQC board since June 2001.

Jeff Todd

DEPUTY CHAIRMAN
Jeff Todd has been on the EQC board since April 1997 and was appointed deputy chairman in April 2000. He is a director of the ANZ Banking Group in New Zealand, Southern Cross Healthcare, Sanford and Dynasty Hotel Group. He was appointed to the council of Massey University in July 2001.

Neville Young

CHAIRMAN
Neville Young has been an EQC commissioner since July 1997 and was first appointed chairman in July 1998. He is a National Provident Fund Trustee, a Fire Commission board member and a director of the National Provident Fund-Government Superannuation Fund Authority joint venture company, Annuitas Management Limited.

Taari Nicholas

Taari Nicholas is a chartered accountant with extensive experience in investment banking and funds management. He is regional director for Aegis Corporate Advisers Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based investment bank. He is also a director of Moana Pacific Fisheries Ltd and a number of private companies. He was appointed to the EQC board in June 2001.

Jeremy Dwyer

Jeremy Dwyer was mayor of Hastings from 1986 to 2001 and is currently a Hawke’s Bay regional councillor, representing the Hastings constituency. He chairs the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group in his home region. A teacher by profession, he served 15 years in the primary and secondary sectors, including as a school principal and board of trustees chairperson. Mr Dwyer has been an EQC commissioner since June 2001.

Carole Durbin

Carole Durbin joined the EQC board in June 2001 and is a senior partner in the Auckland office of law firm Simpson Grierson. She is also deputy chairman and audit committee chairman of Mighty River Power. She is a committee member of the Auckland branch of the Institute of Directors and a panel member of both the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute and LEADR.

George Hooper

Appointed to the EQC board in October 2001, George Hooper is a professional engineer and executive director of the Centre for Advanced Engineering (CAE) in Christchurch. The CAE is an independent centre that encourages the application of advanced engineering and technology in New Zealand.
