EQC's temporary Tauranga office to close
16 November 2005
On Friday (18 November) the Earthquake Commission closes the temporary field office it set up in Tauranga following the May floods.
The Commission received 807 claims from the floods at a cost to date of $28.8 million.
“There are just over 50 claims from Tauranga and Matata still to be settled but the bulk of our work is over,” EQC’s insurance manager, Lance Dixon, said today.
“The number and complexity of the claims meant having people on the spot was an immense help in settling claims as quickly as possible,” he said.
“It also aided co-ordination between the various organisations involved with the recovery operation.”
“People who wish to make further enquiries about their claims can ring us on 0800 508 765. A message will be taken and the loss adjuster handling their file will be contacted on their behalf.”
