News Update
From 1 January 2012 all the arrangements for making urgent repairs will be handled by EQC and Fletcher EQR.
Previously customers could authorise their own repairs for urgent work up to $2000 in value, and invoice EQC.
Urgent repairs will be managed as the highest priority. Specialist EQC support staff will assess requests, and where the house in unsafe, insecure, unsanitary or not adequately keeping out the weather, we will send someone in to do the work straight away.
What can you do in a natural disaster?
EQC has a website where you can learn how to be prepared for an earthquake or any of the other natural disasters the
Earthquake Commission covers: www.eq-iq.org.nz
It also has scientific information and stories about each of the natural disasters so is a good website for school projects.
