West Auckland Tornado - 6 December 2012

Tornado | West Auckland

West Auckland experienced strong winds and rain on 6 December 2012. As well as causing fatalities and injuries, it brought down trees and damaged houses.

Volcanic eruption | Tongariro

Mt Tongariro erupted for the first time in over a century at 11.50pm on 6 August 2012. Ash rained onto many central North Island roads and homes. For more information, see our press release: Advice to householders affected by the Tongariro volcanic ash cloud.
