Event timeline - 1942 to today

The Earthquake Commission (EQC) is New Zealand's unique response to its active geological environment.

EQC provides insurance cover for damage to residential property caused by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hydrothermal activity and tsunami.

Below is a timeline showing major events which both resulted in the establishment of EQC and subsequent to its formation.
