Official Information Act Request Form

Use this form if you are seeking information about the history of a claim with EQC.

We will respond as soon as possible and within 20 working days of receiving your request.

If you require a response to your information request urgently, please indicate below and we will do our best to meet your requirements.

If you are not authorised on the claim, please contact oiarequests@eqc.govt.nz

Please note that we use tracked & signed Courier Post to send responses via surface mail. This method of response is not suitable for P.O boxes and additional time will be required for delivery.
Authorised requesters include: the insured/claimant, claim contact, current property owner with Deed of Assignment (DOA), or authorised representatives including estate agents representing the seller, with a listing agreement. Unauthorised requesters include: a potential home buyer, current property owner without a DOA, or other interested parties with an interest in receiving property information.

EQC Claim Documents

This will provide you with the claim documentation relevant to the due diligence process when you’re buying or selling a property, or when you’re trying to re-insure or re-mortgage your home.

We will provide you with your EQC Claim Documents within 5- 7 working days.

Alternatively, you can e-mail us at oiarequests@eqc.govt.nz if you would like to request any specific information not covered in the above package. We will be happy to clarify what we can provide you as the most relevant information to suit your needs. Please note that your request may take up to 20 working days if you choose this option.

Please explain your reason for urgency above. We will consider requests marked as urgent but the scope of your request and current volumes of received may influence the timeframe in which we can response. We may contact you to discuss your requirements further and offer further on an expected timeframe.
